A blind ditch refers to a drainage and interception channel constructed within the roadbed or foundation, filled with coarse materials such as crushed stone or gravel, and covered with a filter layer (sometimes incorporating drainage pipes). A blind ditch, also known as a hidden ditch, is an underground drainage channel used to remove groundwater and lower the groundwater level.
